The design of the house dictates that the roof appear to be floating from the concrete. As such, a framed wall on top of a concrete wall cannot take the wind loads from the roof, so we had to cast 5" x 5" steel columns into the concrete walls to carry the beam loads. You can see the first column on the right. That's Tracy climbing up to set the second column.
